About Project
Project type:Campus Portrait
Project year:2022
Tools used: Canon, Photoshop, Lightroom
OVERVIEW
This set of photos is a set of school portraits commissioned by a client. The client wanted the style of the photos to be youthful and enthusiastic, and also requested that they be taken at a fixed campus. After understanding the client's request, I helped the client to choose suitable clothes and make-up in the preliminary communication.
CHALLENGE
The biggest challenge of the project was that the client wanted the finished film to look like film. However, at the time of the shoot we were using a digital camera, and the image would have been different.
SOLUTION
Because of the imaging problems of the pre-shooting equipment, to achieve the customer's requirements can only be adjusted in the later stages of the photo. I compare the difference in imaging between digital and film cameras, and adjust the contrast, saturation and shadows of the photos for this project. I also added graininess and image noise to mimic the aged look of film.
CONCLUSION
In this project, I have honed my post-production skills very well, and at the same time, I have gained recognition and praise from the client. In this process, I also learnt that photographers need to confirm the shooting style and post-production effect with clients in advance, so as to better co-ordinate the whole shooting project.
